“Here is the Real Bio”

My name is Reza Taheri. I’ve battled with mental health. I’ve been rejected. I’ve felt alone. I’ve had my heart broken.

What most people don’t know about me is that I’ve struggled with mental health for more than a decade. Feeling helpless in the fog, hiding how I truly felt, and not having the right tools or professionals to turn to often made seeing the other side feel impossible.

Raised by a single mother as an immigrant, I felt an overwhelming need to fit in—to prove that I was worthy, that I was enough. This turned me into a people pleaser, constantly seeking validation from others, only to realize that what I truly needed was to validate myself first. The absence of healthy male role models added its own challenges to this journey of self-discovery.

What I’ve learned is that being the ‘nice guy,’ while pleasing in the short term, often meant hiding my true self and suppressing my own needs. This pattern is one I’ve not only worked through personally but have also explored with many of my clients—both men and women.

As a recovering perfectionist, I’ve often felt crippled by the weight of my own impossible standards. It’s taken years of self-discovery to make peace with my imperfections and learn to embrace them as part of who I am.

I’ve experienced burnout and the emptiness that comes with being conventionally successful yet unfulfilled. I realized I wasn’t truly living—I was merely tolerating my life.

For years, I searched for belonging by moving from one country to another, trying to fill a void. With each move, my identity began to crumble, and along with it, my self-worth.

Dysfunctional family dynamics and a lingering sense of powerlessness defined much of my early life. You see, I didn’t know how to ask for help.

Through this journey of re-creating and re-inventing myself, I’ve learned how to help others navigate their own transformations. Today, I guide my clients in breaking free from patterns that no longer serve them, aligning with their true selves, and creating lives of purpose, authenticity, and fulfillment.
